Former Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu made history by being the third woman to win the crown for India after 21 years. Harnaaz's memorable reign helped her gain many fans throughout the world, and today, as she bid farewell to the throne, the actress penned an emotional statement for all her fans and well-wishers. The beauty queen expressed gratitude for all the support and invited her fans to look forward to the next chapter in her life.
Harnaaz Sandhu shared an emotional message with her Instagram followers on Tuesday. The 22-year-old expressed gratitude for their support and invited them to accompany her on her new adventure.
"I'm thankful and grateful to all of you for your love that you have showered on me this year! You made my year more special and beautiful [heart emoji]. Heading to the new journey of my life, stay tuned," Harnaaz penned the post. She also shared a few photos from a day outing with her friends in Los Angeles, California.
Meanwhile, at the Miss Universe 2022 competition, Harnaaz crowned her successor, R'Bonney Gabriel of the United States of America. Videos from the event showed Harnaaz's dramatic final walk as Miss Universe and her stunning black gown made by Saisha Shinde. Sushmita Sen and Lara Dutta were appropriately honoured by the ensemble. It included images of their crowning achievement.

Harnaaz Sandhu was crowned Miss Universe in December 2021. Andrea Meza of Mexico crowned Harnaaz as her successor during the event at the Universe Dome in Eilat, Israel. Prior to the 22-year-old, Lara Dutta won the championship for India in 2000, and Sushmita won in 1994.
