New fact: Cockroach milk has three times energy of an equivalent amount of buffalo milk
New Delhi: How about having a glass full of cockroach milk for breakfast?
A new research has indicated that the insect milk may someday be converted into a food supplement worthy of human consumption.
The Pacific Beetle Cockroach, scientists have found, feeds its bug babies a formula which is exceptionally rich in protein, sugar and fat.
This "cockroach milk", reportedly, has whopping three times the energy of an equivalent amount of buffalo milk, about four times the equivalent amount of cow's milk.
You may laugh while reading this report, but there is no denying the fact that this insect that can survive a nuclear disaster and may someday provide the ultimate liquid superfood.
It is also pertinent to mention to mention here that on the planet, the cockroach is one of the hardiest creatures; it can live for a month without food.
Hang on...wait...do not expect to find it next to your regular milk in the dairy shops, at least not for now.
