The dress was a bright raspberry pink colour with bows and frills and mixed Barbiecore and coquette core fashion trends. The sleeveless dress appears surprisingly modern, with broad shoulder straps, a slit on the square neckline, a fitted bodice, a cinched waistline, and a pleated, voluminous skirt.
Radhika styled the ensemble with dainty teardrop earrings, a bracelet, a diamond ring, a Hermès mini Kelly bag in pink, and jewelled white Hangisi flats from Manolo Blahnik. She completed her look with a side-parted ponytail accessorised with a printed silk scarf, feathered brows, a fuchsia pink lip shade, and minimal makeup.
About The Dress:
The dress was sold at an auction in 2016 for ₹3,20,714 (USD 3,840), according to Julien's official website. It was obtained from Cassandra Carpenter in San Francisco and originally belonged to Jeannie Magnin. The dress was put on auction by Doris Raymond, a vintage clothing expert. Most archival dresses from the house of Christian Dior are housed in museums, making Radhika's dress a rare find.
The Pre-wedding Celebration:
The pre-wedding celebrations concluded in the picturesque Italian fishing village of Portofino, following a series of lavish events on a cruise ship that sailed from Cannes. The grand finale, titled 'On Land Portofino,' took place on June 1. Radhika’s vintage Dior dress, a highlight of the celebration, exemplified the old-vintage charm and was originally displayed at the MET Museum in New York. Designed by Yves Saint Laurent for the House of Dior’s fall/winter collection in 1959–60, the dress was part of the museum's extensive collection of costumes and accessories.
The Ambani family closed off an entire plaza in Portofino for one of the events, featuring a performance by Andrea Bocelli. Photos and videos from the festivities have been circulating on social media, highlighting Radhika’s striking fashion choice.
