Navratri 2021: Know The Exact Date Of 'Mahaashtami', 'Mahanavami' And 'Vijay Dashami'

Sharadiya Navratri 2021: Sharadiya Navratri will begin on Thursday, October 7, which will end on the 'Dashmi tithi' of October 15.

Sharadiya Navratri 2021: According to Hindi Panchang, Shardiya Navratri begins with the pratipada of Shukla paksha of Ashwin month and ends on the dashmi (tenth) tithi. According to the calendar year this time Sharadiya Navratri will start on October 7 and end on September 15. In Navratri, the nine forms of Mother Durga are worshipped with complete rituals. This pleases mother Durga very much. It is believed that worshipping and praying Mother Durga in Navratri showers blessing on her devotees and due to her blessing all the wishes of devotees are fulfilled. Wealth, prosperity, and happiness increases in the family and at home.

Navratri may last for 8 or 9 days due to frequent changes in dates. According to the astrologer, Shardiya Navratri will last for eight days as the 'Chaturthi tithi' (fourth date) will lapse this year. When is Mahaashtami?(Navratri 2021 Maha Ashtami Puja)

This year Mahaashtami falls on October 13 (Wednesday). Since the fourth date will lapse in this year's Sharadiya Navratri, Navratri will be eight days long. In such a situation, it would be best to keep the Mahaashtami fast on October 13. Mahagauri is worshipped on Mahaashtami day.

When is Mahanavami? (Navratri 2021 Maha Navami Puja)

According to the Hindu Panchang, Mahanavami will be celebrated on October 14 (Thursday). On the day of Navami, it is a ritual to worship Mother Siddhidatri.

  • 11 October (Fifth Day)- Worship of Mother Katyayani
  • 12 October (Sixth Day )- Worship of Mother Kalratri
  • 13 October (Seventh Day)- Worship of Mother Mahagauri
  • 14 October (Eighth Day)- Worship of Mother Siddhidatri
  • 15 October- Tenth Date (Vrat Paran), Vijayadashmi or Dussehra

The festival of Dussehra in the year 2021 will be celebrated on Friday, October 15.
