In regions following the Amanta calendar, such as Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Southern India, this month is known as Ashwin. However, it's worth noting that despite the variance in the name of the month, Karwa Chauth is celebrated on the same day across all states.

Karwa Chauth aligns with Sankashti Chaturthi, a fasting day dedicated to Lord Ganesha. These rituals include the worship of Lord Shiva and His divine family, including Lord Ganesha.
