Right from the beginning, there has been an emphasis on eating vegetables. This is because they are filled with goodness and nutrients. Leafy vegetables are low in calories and are high in health-beneficial Vitamin K, magnesium, calcium, and other essential nutrients. So you can include spinach, cabbage in your diet without any dilemma.

Spinach: Spinach contains thymine which helps in converting carbohydrates in the body into energy. Our body does not produce thymine naturally, so the consumption of spinach becomes important. You can include it in your diet by having spinach chat, spinach paneer (Palak Paneer).

Kale: It belongs to the family of radish, cabbage, and mustard leaves, etc. and its leaves appear exactly like mustard leaves and taste very similar to radish. The best way to eat Kale is raw because cooking reduces the nutritious value of the vegetable. Kale is rich in vitamins A, C, K, calcium, folate, potassium, and fiber. It can help boost heart health. 

Cabbage: Cabbage is the best source of vitamin C and sulphur. These nutrients are known to remove toxins such as uric acid from our bodies. In addition, cabbage also helps in cleansing the liver. Experts say cabbage keeps the liver in good condition.

  • Eating leafy vegetables helps in relieving hunger and keeps you full for a long time. These can further help in weight loss. 
  • Green vegetables produce a nutrient called osteocalcin, also known as a bone manufacturer. Osteocalcin strengthens bones.
  • Vitamins K, magnesium, calcium, and other nutrients present in green vegetables can help slow down the aging process. 
  • Green vegetables are rich in carotenoids, known to protect human eyes from any damage caused by sunlight.
