A meteorite is embedded in the Coperni handbag, which is made of dark grey stone. Netizens' reactions to the brand's new launch were mixed. Some praised it, while others bemoaned its high price.
Nobody wants to carry a bag...unless it's high fashion. A well-known French brand recently released limited edition handbags fashioned from meteorites collected from throughout the world. The bags, which combine "art, archaeology, and design," have elicited a range of emotions, from amazement to ridicule.
Coperni, the womenswear label most known for spray-painting a dress on supermodel Bella Hadid during Paris Fashion Week in 2022, is behind the offering.
Price And Features Of The 'Meteorite Handbag':
Luxury fashion brands are known for coming up with innovative approaches. Luxury items, on the other hand, have exorbitant pricing. Among the items that have gone popular online are the Dolce & Gabbana "Khaki Ski Mask Hat" for 32,000 and the Hugo Boss flip-flops for 9,000. Coperni has now launched a luxury bag made of meteorite rock that costs a whopping 40,000 euros (Rs 35 lakh).
The 'Mini Meteorite Swipe Bag' is a limited-edition bag made of dark grey stone with a meteorite incorporated.
"The meteorite will be individually sourced per each order and can come from various locations, depending on where the meteorite fell on Earth," according to the brand's website. "The bag weighs about 1.8 kilogrammes and stands about 23 centimetres tall.
Coperni added that because each piece is entirely handmade, the product's shape may differ slightly from the picture. Semar, an Italian company, handcrafts the one-of-a-kind Stone and incorporates it into the bag. The bag also features an embossed Coperni logo.
"Coperni has created the mini "Meteorite" Swipe Bag exclusively for the Fall / Winter 23 collection. A one-of-a-kind object that blends archaeology, design, and classical and primitive art. The photograph's meteorite is estimated to have fallen on Earth 55,000 years ago and has been certified 100% authentic by Theatrum Mundi "According to the luxury label's website.
If you order one, it will take approximately six weeks to arrive, and it is non-refundable. The bag is priced at 40,000 euros (Rs 35 lakhs). Customers who purchase this product will also receive an authenticity certificate.
