Anant Ambani On His Battle With Health Issues, Says 'Radhika Gave Me Strength'

Ambani Family is gearing up for a lavish pre-wedding celebration at their home in Jamnagar, preparations of which are in full swing and the family has planned themed nights from March 1 to 3.

Anant Ambani is gearing up to tie the knot with his childhood friend and fiance Radhika Merchant in July. However, before the grand wedding, the Ambani Family is gearing up for a lavish pre-wedding celebration at their home in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Preparations for the ceremony are in full swing and the family has planned themed nights from March 1 to 3 for the entire festivity. 

Just like the Ambani's would have it, the guest list is long and elaborate comprising eminent personalities from all over the world, including Bill Gates, Zuckerberg and many more. As per media reports, some of the most renowned artists and musicians are also expected to perform and the list includes Rihanna, world-renowned Illusionist David Blaine and top Indian artists such as Arijit Singh, Ajay-Atul, Diljeet Dosanjh.

In a recent interview with India Today, Anant Ambani said, "I am lucky (to have her). She is the person of my dreams. Since childhood, I had thought that I would never get married because I was always devoted to taking care of animals. But when I met Radhika, I saw her sharing the same values as me. She has this sense of giving and nurturing towards animals."

As the conversation flowed, Anant Ambani also shared about his health issue and how Radhika has always supported him through thick and thin.

"Radhika has stood like a strong pillar of support during my difficult times, as I battled with health issues. Even my parents never made me feel like I was ill. Even when doctors gave up on certain things, they never did. Additionally, Radhika gave me strength," he told India Today.

Anant's fluctuating weight has been a topic of public discussion. As the son of India's richest man, Mukesh Ambani, he has been constantly scrutinised and criticised. However, during a recent interview, with Firstpost, Anant’s doctor and bariatric surgeon, Dr. Muffazal Lakdawala spoke about Anant's struggles with a tone of admiration.

According to Dr. Lakdawala, Anant has tried very hard to maintain a healthy weight since childhood. He had lost weight in the past, but unfortunately, the weight has come back. In addition, Anant has battled lung issues since the age of two, which has further complicated his weight loss journey.

People have often claimed that he has undergone weight loss surgery, but Dr Lakdawala refuted such claims. He said that Anant has tried various methods to lose weight, including a strict diet and exercise regimen. In fact, Anant had lost close to 138 kgs before Isha Ambani and Akash Ambani’s wedding through diet and exercise alone.

"I do know that he's one guy who's so positive every time I've spoken to him about it," Dr Lakdawala told Firstpost, adding, "That poor guy has been trolled for something or the other. And most people will be thinking, 'Oh, he's a rich man kid. So he will be eating a lot, or he will be just partying all the time. ' I do know that I had put him on a program and the guy was in the pool for two hours every single day." 

Meanwhile, for the Jamnagar festivities, all guests will arrive on chartered flights from Mumbai or Delhi between 8 AM and 1 PM on March 1. In addition, they will receive personalised services such as laundry, saree draping, and other custom assistance. Despite providing a detailed dress code, the Ambani family has emphasised in the guidebook that guests should prioritise comfort, encouraging them to enjoy each moment to the fullest and make beautiful memories that last a lifetime.
