The EV segment will soon get a lot of contenders and amongst them will be no less than three such offerings, the BE 6 from Mahindra as well as the e Vitara from Maruti Suzuki plus the just unveiled Creta electric from Hyundai. All three electric EVs will rival the Tata Curvv which has been launched earlier and come with a lot of technology while being a compact SUV in size. Crucially, all three are very important for their respective makers as an EV statement.
Battery Pack And Range
Let us look at the battery pack and the range that is on offer with the four cars. The new Creta electric has two battery pack options- 42 and 51.4 kwh battery pack. The range varies from 390 to 473km. The Curvv EV also has two battery packs- a 45kWh version with 430km range and a 55kWh version with 502km range. The BE has a 59/79kWh battery pack version with the range being 556 and 682km. The e Vitara meanwhile has a 49kWh battery pack and a 61kwh battery pack with the larger one delivering more than 500km. India spec figures of the e Vitara are awaited.
Performance
The Creta electric will get a single motor but no power outputs are available while it will do 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. The BE 6 will do 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds while the Curvv will sprint from 0-100 km/h in 8.6 seconds. The e Vitara meanwhile is the only one to have a dual motor configuration but whether India will get it or not remains to be seen.
