GTA 6 Will Be 'Worth The Wait', Assures Rockstar-Owner Take-Two CEO: Here's What He Said
Take-Two’s strategic decision not to annualise its non-sports franchises has allowed titles like GTA to stand out in the gaming industry.
GTA 6: Grand Theft Auto VI (also stylised as GTA VI or GTA 6) is gearing up for its much-anticipated release later this year, barring any unforeseen delays. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick, whose company owns Rockstar Games, assures fans the wait will be "worth it," hinting at groundbreaking content unlike anything seen before.
In a recent YouTube interview with creator Conner Mather, Zelnick reflected on the company’s formula for success. Take-Two, which oversees franchises like Red Dead Redemption and Borderlands, prioritises fostering creativity within its studios.
Zelnick emphasized the importance of passion, stating, "We insist that they [the company's creative team] follow their passion."
Take-Two’s strategic decision not to annualise its non-sports franchises has allowed titles like GTA to stand out in the gaming industry. Zelnick explained that this approach enables the company to invest heavily in each release, ensuring long-term success. "Unlike many of our competitors, every one of our releases inside a franchise has done better than the prior release – this has been true for like 20 years – and in most instances that isn't the case in the video game business. In most cases you'll see a steady decline release after release, but that isn't the case with us because we take our time and we really focus on presenting something to the audience that they just haven't seen before," he noted.
