AAP MP Sanjay Singh Sends Defamation Notice To Manoj Tiwari; Check Details
AAP MP Sanjay Singh has sent a defamation notice to BJP leader Manoj Tiwari over allegations of voter registration irregularities against Singh's wife.
AAP MP Sanjay Singh has sent a defamation notice to Bharatiya Janata Party leaders Manoj Tiwari and Amit Malviya over BJP's allegation of irregularity in the registration of Singh's wife in electoral rolls.
On Sunday, Singh had alleged that the BJP had filed an application seeking to remove his wife Anita Singh's vote ahead of Delhi assembly elections. He further alleged that the application by BJP was submitted twice.
Responding to the allegations, BJP showed an affidavit saying Anita's vote was registered in Uttar Pradesh's Sultanpur.
BJP leader Manoj Tiwari also took a dig at Singh saying he made his wife a victim of false politics. "I feel bad about this insult," he added.

Singh countered the charge saying the affidavit shown by BJP is from January last year and that an application was submitted on January 4, 2024, seeking to delete her name from the voters' list in Sultanpur.
"... My wife has filed an application to the District Electoral office, Sultanpur to delete her name from there, on January 4... My mother and my father's names are there on the voter list - except them, neither my wife nor my name is there...," Singh said on Wednesday.
The BJP has also alleged irregularity in the registration of Singh's name in the voters' list. Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva said, "When Sanjay Singh entered Rajya Sabha in 2018, he mentioned in his affidavit that his vote is registered in Hari Nagar assembly... At the same time, the voter list of Sultanpur municipality includes his and his family's name."
"For the upcoming elections, his name is mentioned in the voter list of New Delhi and also Tilak Nagar assemblies," he added and urged the Election Commission and Delhi Police to take cognisance of it.
