Former Student Opens Fire At School In Kerala's Thrissur, Held

Thrissur Collector Krishna Teja said that it was an isolated event and requested the people to not panic.

A former student opened fire at his school in Thrissur district of Kerala on Tuesday. There was no casualty reported. The accused was arrested by the police. The incident took place at Vivekodayam Boys Higher Secondary School, according to a report on Manorama.  Thrissur Collector Krishna Teju said that they were going to investigate the isolated event and there was no need to panic. 

According to ANI, a youth opened fire at a school in Naikkanal, near Thrissur. The accused has been identified as Jagan. The accused on Tuesday entered the office room of the school, took a chair, and then pulled out an air gun which he had kept in his trouser pockets. 

He then pointed it towards the employees of the school. Later, he entered a classroom and fired three rounds before trying to flee from the spot. 

Krishna Teja, Collector of Thrissur said, "It's an isolated event... We are going to investigate it and take action... No need to panic..."

 

 

"A young person has come to the school. He was a bit unsteady and used his pistol and fired two or three rounds. That's what the school authorities have told us. He was taken into custody. We are all here. He will be produced before the doctor," Teja told the media.
