I Am Not Looking For Personal Vindication: Kerala Guv Arif Mohammad Khan

Kerala Governor earlier pointed out the CM's incompetency in wake of appointments to varsities in the state and he reiterated that the leadership will have to take moral responsibility

Amid ongoing unrest between Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, the latter on Monday reiterated that he has no personal fight with anybody and he is not looking for personal vindication.

"I have said again and again that I am not looking for personal vindication. There is no personal fight with anybody. My job is to ensure that the law of the land is upheld. My job is to see that the Universities are free from executive interference," the Governor said as quoted by news agency ANI.

Kerala Governor earlier in several instances has alleged that the CM is incompetent and he again said that the leadership will have to take moral responsibility in connection with the fresh appointments to the varsities. "If somebody sitting in CM's office is directing VC to appoint his relatives & if the CM doesn't know about it, shows how incompetent he is. If he knows about it, then he is equally guilty," he said, as quoted by the news agency ANI.

He further asserted that he will not allow appointments based on favouritism and nepotism. "It is my duty to ensure that appointments on basis of favouritism and nepotism are not allowed. As long as I am here, I will not allow that. Only people who are qualified, and meet all the requirements of the UGC will be appointed."
