On the arrest, Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara appreciated the effort of both NIA and Karnataka police. He said, "We will find out whether they have any links with the other agencies. These two were supposed to have been involved in the earlier Shivamogga blast. They had escaped for almost 3-4 years. And now after this incident, they are caught. NIA will investigate further. And then our police also will find out because they are originally from Karnataka. So let us wait and see what comes out of the investigation."

Karnataka LoP R Ashoka said, "I congratulate NIA, the team of police from the central government...I think terrorist activity is happening where there is no BJP...Terrorists think that Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal are safe places as there is no action against terrorists..."

On March 1, a low-intensity explosion took place at Bengaluru's Rameshwaram Cafe.
