'People Tired Of PM, His Campaign': Jairam Ramesh Takes Jibe At Modi’s Roadshows During Karnataka Polls
Jairam Ramesh also spoke on the issue of Bajrang Dal saying the outfit believes in spreading the politics of hatred and violence.
Congress General Secretary in-charge Communications, Jairam Ramesh on Sunday took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi roadshows during the Karnataka polls saying people are tired of him and his campaigns. “"People are tired of PM and his campaign, no matter how many roadshows he did...but people were not enthusiastic..." he told news agency ANI.
He also spoke on the issue of Bajrang Dal, which the Congress had earlier promised to ban if elected to power in Karnataka, although it took a u-turn later.
“Bajrang Dal is different and Bajrang Bali is different. Bajrang Dal believes in spreading the politics of hatred and violence...what Congress said in its manifesto is any organisation that breaks the law, spreads religious hatred, religious bigotry, spreads communal violence will be dealt with according to the law and constitution” said the Congress leader, reported by the news agnecy.

Jairam’s statement came a day after his party registered an emphatic win in Karnataka, winning 135 of the 224 assembly seats in the state. The Bharatiya Janata Party won 66 seats while Janata Dal (Secular) got 19 seats.
After the party’s win, the Congress has now shifted its focus to pick the next chief minister of the state with two front-runners, DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah, both of whom have kept no secrets in expressing their ambition for the post.
To decide on the same, the Congress party has called a meeting of its MLAs and all the newly elected legislators have been instructed to reach Bengaluru. The meeting is scheduled to start at around 5:30 pm today.
