Karnataka: Tejasvi Surya Meets DK Shivakumar To Discuss 'Important' Issues, Infra Projects

Tejasvi Surya had discussed a range of matters with Shivakumar, including a multi-level flyover, the expansion of metro phase-3, and a proposal to construct a tunnel on roads in Bengaluru.

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya met Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar at the former's residence to discuss important issues and the infrastructure development plans for Bengaluru on Wednesday. Surya, in a tweet, said that he discussed regarding a multi-level flyover, the expansion of the metro phase-3 and a proposal for constructing tunnel on roads in Bengaluru with Shivakumar.

On Wednesday, BJP Yuva Morcha President Tejasvi Surya tweeted, "Met with the Deputy CM and Bengaluru Development Minister DK Shivakumar today and discussed important issues relating to Bengaluru city’s infrastructure...Requested him to consider building a multi-level fly-over over the same route along with the Metro Phase - 3 which would effectively expand the carriage capacity of the road from Vega City Mall to Nayandahalli."

The BJP MP also discussed the proposal of building tunnels in Bengaluru with Deputy CM on Wednesday.

"We discussed his proposal of building tunnel roads in Bengaluru. I suggested that the idea of mass rapid transit train systems instead of tunnel roads must be encouraged as traffic congestion is never addressed by building more roads," he said.

Tejasvi Surya also underlined his proposal for the construction of a skywalk between Banashankari metro station and Banashankari BMTC terminal. Surya had proposed to construct the skywalk in 2019 in order to enable a multimodal transport hub. The officials also okayed the design of the skywalk in 2019.

Further, Surya assured the people that he would constantly follow all the important issues in Bengaluru and press for its quick completion.
