Karnataka Lokayukta Team Conducts Raid At KR Pura Tehsildar's Residence Over Alleged Disproportionate Assets

A team led by Lokayukta SP conducted a raid at the residence of KR Pura Tehsildar, Ajith Rai in Karnataka, in connection with alleged disproportionate assets, as reported by the news agency ANI. Karnataka Lokayukta team also raided in Kodagu, Kushalanagar, KR Puram Bengaluru, Vijayanagara, Chikkaballapur, Tumakuru, Chikmagalur, Yadgiri, Belagavi, Ramanagara, and Kolar.

Last month, the anti-corruption wing of Lokayukta raided the premises of the sub-division project engineer of Nirmithi Kendra in Ranebennur, Haveri district in search of disproportionate asset. Lokayukta sleuths also raided the premises of a Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board official. A team led by Lokayukta Deputy SP Chandrashekhar conducted a raid at the premises of a sub-division project engineer in Ranebennur, ANI reported citing official sources.

Meanwhile, the anti-corruption wing also raided the KIADB officer Narasimha Murthy's house in Tumkuru. The team led by Lokayukta officials DSP Manjunath and Harish carried out the raid and also seized the documents.

In another incident, the National Investigation Agency on Tuesday conducted searches at the houses of three absconding suspects in a case pertaining to the killing of BJP Yuva Morcha member Praveen Nettaru by members of the banned Popular Front of India in Karnataka last year, an official said.

According to the official, several electronic gadgets and documents were seized during the searches at the houses of Abdul Nasir and Abdul Rahaman in Kodagu district and Naushad in Dakshina Kannada district. The searches were carried out in three locations in two districts as a part of the investigation agency's efforts to nab the absconders, federal agency's spokesperson said.

"All three are suspected of harbouring the main assailants of Nettaru at various hideouts across Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Besides the trio, five other accused are still absconding in the case which NIA took over in August 2022," the spokesperson said, as quoted by the news agency PTI.
