Karnataka Govt Forms Panel For Organising Job Fairs For Unemployed Youth

The panel formed by Karnataka government is set to conduct extensive job fairs throughout the state shortly and is actively working towards prioritizing opportunities for Kannadigas in job melas.

Karnataka government formed a panel headed by Skill Development Minister Sharan Prakash Patil to organise a mega job fair at the district and state levels to help unemployed youth find jobs in the state. The launch of the scheme comes after the successful launch of 'Yuva Nidhi Scheme', one of the five poll promises of Congress government in Shivamogga. The Yuva Nidhi Scheme stands as a government initiative in Karnataka designed to extend financial support to unemployed youth who have completed their degree.

A statement from the Minister's office said, "Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has formed the job fair committee under the chairmanship of Minister Sharan Prakash Patil, under whose leadership the Yuva Nidhi scheme was launched in a mega event."

"This committee will organise job fairs at state and district level in coordination with the major, small scale industries and software companies. The government aims to make unemployed youth find jobs and become self-reliant by organising job fairs across the state," it said, as per a report on PTI.

The committee is strategizing to conduct extensive job fairs throughout the state shortly and is actively working towards prioritizing opportunities for Kannadigas in these job melas, the statement said.

Patil has also engaged in discussions with relevant department officials and other stakeholders to address the issue of unfilled positions in the government sector and to stimulate job creation in the private sector. The upcoming job fair is anticipated to open up increased employment prospects for unemployed youths in rural areas, particularly in sectors such as IT-BT, hospitality, manufacturing, banking, and more, as outlined in the official statement.

Earlier, Karnataka government announced its decision to hold a job mela in Bengaluru in the last week of January 2024.
