Karnataka: Toddler Who Fell Into 16-Ft-Deep Borewell Rescued After 20-Hour Operation

Immediately after the child was rescued from the borewell, the doctors performed first aid and rushed him to a nearby hospital for a checkup.

After 20 hours, the NDRF, SDRF, and various local authorities successfully rescued a two-year-old boy in Lanchayan village of Indi taluk of Karnataka on Thursday. The child, identified as Sathwik M, fell into a borewell while playing near his home. 

Immediately, after the child was rescued, the doctors performed a first aid and rushed him to a nearby hospital for checkup.

According to ANI, after 20 hours of rescue operation, NDRF and SDRF teams have succeeded in rescuing a 1.5-year-old child who fell into an open borewell in the Lachyan village of Indi taluk of the Vijayapura district.

According to the police, as reported by PTI, the child is presumed to have descended headfirst into the well. The incident came to light when a passerby in the vicinity heard the child's cries and promptly alerted the family.

On Wednesday, a senior police officer said, as per a report on PTI said, "Rescue operations began around 6.30 pm. Police teams, revenue officials, members of taluk panchayat and officials from the fire and emergency services department are here at the spot. All efforts are underway to rescue the child."
