Freed Investors From Red Tapism, Given Red Carpet Opportunities: PM Modi At Invest Karnataka 2022

Invest Karnataka 2022: PM Modi also said that they have encouraged investments in various sectors that were earlier closed to private investments such as defence, drones, space and geospatial mapping

Chennai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a three-day 'Invest Karnataka 2022' meeting through video-conferencing from New Delhi on Wednesday. The Karnataka government is holding a meeting to woo investors into the state. 

On Wednesday, PM Narendra Modi at Invest Karnataka 2022 Summit said, “It's that place where there is both tradition and technology. It's that place where there is a unique confluence of nature and culture. When we talk of talent and technology, the first thing that comes to mind is the brand Bengaluru.”

“Although it's a time of global crisis, economists & experts across the world are describing India as a bright spot. We continue to work on our fundamentals to strengthen our economy. The free trade deals that have been signed give the world a glimpse of our preparedness,” he said.

PM Modi: “We've freed our investors from red tapism and given them a red carpet of opportunities. We have encouraged investments in various sectors that were earlier closed to private investments such as defence, drones, space and geospatial mapping.”

On Wednesday, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai, Governor Thawaarchand Gehlot and Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Piyush Goyal were present at the event.

The three-day program is expected to have 80 speaker sessions. Some of the top industrialists who are set to attend the invent include Kumar Mangalam Birla, Sajjan Jindal and Vikram Kirloskar.

Apart from this country sessions will also be held where ministerial and delegations from their respective countries will take part in the event. The country sessions will be held for France, Germany, South Korea and Australia.

More than 5,000 delegates are expected to participate in the investors' meet. The valedictory meet will be held on November 4.
