Hubbali Student Murder 'Not A Case Of Love Jihad,' Says Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah
Siddaramaiah criticised the BJP for using the tragedy for political advantage and condemned the politicisation of the incident.
Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah condemned the Hubballi murder incident and asserted it wasn't a case of love jihad. He also pledged a thorough investigation and strict punishment for the culprit. Criticising the BJP for allegedly politicising the issuing, Siddaramaiah emphasised the government's commitment to law and order. On the other hand, ABVP staged a protest outside Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara's residence in connection with the incident and was later detained.
In the wake of the crime, BJP questioned the law and order scenario in the state. In Hubbali, Karnataka, a college student and daughter of a Congress corporator was fatally stabbed multiple times by her stalker on the BVB college campus on Thursday.
On the Hubballi murder incident, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah said, "This is not a case of love jihad. I condemn the incident. We have arrested the culprit, the investigation is going on seriously and we will punish the culprit. We have taken care of law and order seriously to maintain peace and harmony. BJP is using this issue for politics, it is condemnable that a political party (BJP) is using the murder of a girl for political purposes."

Additionally, ABVP workers staged a protest outside the residence of Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara over the Hubballi murder incident. However, the protesters were detained by the police.
On Lok Sabha Election 2024, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah said, "There is no Modi wave in Karnataka or in the nation. There is a strong anti-incumbency against the Modi govt. That's why in the whole country, there is a wave of Congress and I.N.D.I.A. bloc."
