Karnataka CM Orders Closure Of Schools, Colleges For Next Three Days Amid Ongoing Hijab Row
The CM's orders come after Karnataka High Court while hearing the hijab row issue appealed to the students to maintain peace and tranquility so that the public is not disturbed
New Delhi: Amid ongoing hijab row in Karnataka, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday ordered the closure of high schools and colleges for the next three days across the state.
Taking the announcement to his Twitter handle, CM Bommai said, "I appeal to all the students, teachers and management of schools and colleges as well as people of Karnataka to maintain peace and harmony. I have ordered the closure of all high schools and colleges for the next three days. All concerned are requested to cooperate."

The CM's orders come after Karnataka High Court while hearing the hijab row issue appealed to the students to maintain peace and tranquility so that the public is not disturbed. "Making agitation, going on the street, shouting slogans, attacking students, students attacking others, these are not good things," the Karnataka HC noted as quoted by ANI.
The High Court hearing on the Karnataka hijab row ended for the day on Tuesday and is to be continued on Wednesday at 2.30 PM.
Karnataka CM also appealed to all the concerned persons from outside to not make provocative statements. "We're awaiting directions from Karnataka HC. I appeal to students to maintain peace & harmony. I've directed school administration to see there're no clashes b/w students. Appeal to all concerned persons from outside not to make provocative statements," he said as quoted by ANI news agency.
