This marks a unique occurrence as Bengaluru has encountered a completely rainless April, a phenomenon not observed since 1983. It was the driest April on record, even though there were a few days when light drizzles occurred in some parts of the city, but not enough to register on the IMD. During the month, the city saw some of the hottest days on record due to the lack of rain.

The meteorological center has predicted cloudy skies with light rain for Friday, with maximum and minimum temperatures expected to reach 38 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius, respectively. Minimum temperatures are projected to drop by another degree for the remainder of the week.

Several netizens shared visuals of rain rejoicing the respite from the May heat.
