Bengaluru: ACB Raids Congress MLA BZ Zameer Khan's Residence In Disproportionate Assets Case

New Delhi: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on Tuesday raided multiple locations linked to Congress MLA BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan. ACB also booked Zameer Khan in a disproportionate assets case. On the basis of an ED report, the sleuths conducted raids at five locations -- Sadashiva Nagar, Banashankari, Kalasipalya & his residence in Bengaluru Cantonment.
"The ACB teams are verifying the documents and the investigation is on," said the ACB officials. Multiple teams of the ACB arrived at five locations of Zameer Khan, who served as food and civil supplies minister in HD Kumaraswamy's cabinet for over a year and was a four-time MLA.

Earlier, last year Enforcement Directorate (ED) has raided Zameer Khan and another former Minister R Roshan Baig's residence, allegedly in connection with the IMA Ponzi scam worth Rs 4,000 crore. In this case, Khan had earlier appeared several times before ED.
What is IMA Ponza Scam?
It is alleged that I-Monetary Advisory (IMA) and its sister Ponzi companies lured gullible investors by offering better interest rates using Islamic ways. The Ponzi scheme run by Karnataka-based IMA has allegedly duped lakhs of people by promising better returns using Islamic ways. It was estimated that IMA Ponzi is a scam of worth Rs 4,000 crores.
