BJP corners Punjab govt over RSS worker's killing
New Delhi [India], October 18 (ANI): The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday cornered the Congress-led government in Punjab over the murder of a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader and said chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh has failed to maintain law and order situation in the state.
"This is a sad incident and there is no law in Punjab. Captain Amarinder Singh's Government has failed to maintain law and order in the state," BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain told ANI.
RSS leader Ravinder Gosai was shot dead by unidentified men on a motorcycle in Ludhiana's Kailash Nagar, on Tuesday morning, when he was returning from the RSS branch.
Meanwhile, party leader Zafar Islam accused the Congress and the Left parties of being hand in glove in targeting RSS and BJP workers.
Islam said while left was spreading violence in Kerala against the RSS, the Congress has also started doing so in the states it rule.
"Punjab Government is ignoring such crimes, and on the other hand is supporting elements committing the crimes," Zafar Islam told ANI.
The incident comes two days after another RSS worker, Nidesh, 28, was attacked in Kerala.
The local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit has blamed the attack on CPM workers. (ANI)
