Omicron Variant: Revised Guidelines Issued In Delhi, Rajasthan, UP, Bihar, MP & Punjab - Check Details

RT-PCR test has been made mandatory for citizens returning from high-risk countries in Delhi. If any citizen is found infected, a sample of the same will be sent for genome sequencing.

Revised Corona Guidelines: State governments have become fully alert amid the increasing cases of omicron in the country. In many states including Delhi, Rajasthan, cases infected with omicron have increased the concern of the governments. Revised guidelines have been issued in these states. In many states, RT-PCR tests have been made mandatory for citizens coming from outside. Let us know what arrangements have been made in which state. 

1) Delhi :
It has been made mandatory for citizens returning from high-risk countries to conduct RT-PCR tests in Delhi. If any citizen is found infected, a sample of the same will be sent for genome sequencing. A person who is found positive has to stay in isolation. In addition, there are instructions to stay in home isolation for a week even after the report comes negative. 

2) Uttar Pradesh:
Corona tests are being conducted at crowded places including railway stations and bus stands in Lucknow since Omicron cases have been found in India. 12 teams have been deployed at two railway stations for testing. About 1,200 tests are being conducted here every day. At the same time, the usage of masks and other covid rules are being implemented strictly. 

3) Rajasthan:
In Rajasthan, vaccination, and the usage of masks, is being stressed upon. People have been asked to use sanitisers and follow social distancing. According to the guidelines, all institutions, including universities, colleges, and schools from classes 1 to 12 in the state, are being monitored strictly. It is necessary for university, college, and school teachers and general staff to get both doses of the vaccine. Staff in the school or college bus will be allowed as per the seating capacity only.  

4) Madhya Pradesh:
Some decisions have been taken for vigilance in Madhya Pradesh after the new variant of corona omicron was found. Some additional precautions are being taken along with the central government guidelines. The government has appealed to the people to exercise caution following the rapidly increasing omicron cases across the country. The CM has told everyone to be aware, wear masks, and maintain social distancing as much as possible. The government has appealed to the people to get tested immediately if they notice any symptoms.

5) Punjab:
After the entry of Omicron into the country, the Charanjit government of Punjab is alerting the people in the state. Emphasis is being given on wearing masks and maintaining social distancing even in Punjab. The pace of corona testing has been increased here. The deputy chief minister says there is no need to panic about this new variant. By taking precautions, we can prevent the spread of this variant.
