Meanwhile, Odisha, today, became first state in the country to halt Coronavirus vaccination drive. Odisha administration decided to halt the first phase of inoculation process for a day on Sunday to observe those who took the vaccine today.
After Odisha, Maharashtra halted Covid-19 vaccination drive for a day, till 18th January in the entire state of Maharashtra due to technical issues with CoWIN App.
Manohar Agnani and JS Mandeep Bhandari, additional secretaries of the Ministry of Health, addressed a press conference on the world's largest vaccination campaign against the coronavirus epidemic in the country. During this, he said that the first day of this campaign was successful.
Covishield has been supplied to all the states while Covaxin (Bharat Biotech International Limited) has been dispatched to 12 states. Today, 1,91,181 people were vaccinated in this campaign.
The Health Ministry said that 78 people were vaccinated in Andaman and Nicobar. 16,963 were vaccinated in Andhra Pradesh, 743 in Arunachal Pradesh, 2,721 in Assam, 16,401 in Bihar, 195 in Chandigarh, 4,985 in Chhattisgarh, 3,403 in Delhi, 373 in Goa and 8,557 in Gujarat.
