After Maharashtra, Rajasthan Becomes Second State To Give 1 Crore Vaccine Shots

More than one crore people have been vaccinated in Rajasthan, making the state second in the country after Maharashtra which has administered COVID-19 vaccine to more than one crore people by Monday afternoon.

After Maharashtra, Rajasthan has become the second state in the country which has administered COVID-19 vaccine to more than one crore people by Monday afternoon.

State medical and health minister Dr Raghu Sharma thanked and congratulated the medical personnel for getting more than one crore people vaccinated in Rajasthan. Sharma also urged the citizens to vaccinated in large numbers and help the government in battle against COVID-19.

News agency IANS quoted Sharma saying, "Till Sunday, 99,83,418 people had been vaccinated. On Monday morning, this figure crossed 1 crore. Vaccination for people above 45 years of age started from April 1. A total of 3380 government and 188 private sites in the state are providing vaccination facility."

He further informed that an average of 4.70 lakh persons have been vaccinated every day since last four days. A total of 5.44 lakh were vaccinated on 5th April, 4.84 lakh on April6, 5.81 lakh on April 7, 4.65 lakh on April 8, 4.21 lakh on April 9, 2.96 lakh on April 10 and 1.11 lakh were vaccinated on April 11.

A total of 1,11, 40,860 crore vaccine doses have been received by the Centre till 11 April, he informed.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday said that the second wave of the coronavirus infection and the rising number of cases in the state are a matter of great concern and people neglect Covid-19 safety protocols, then the state government will be forced to impose stricter measures in Rajasthan.

The state on Sunday reported 5,105 fresh cases of COVID-19 pushing the tally to 3,63,793. As many as 3,28,881 people have recovered from the infection while the number of active cases at present is 31,986 in Rajasthan.
