Coronavirus: With 46k New Cases, India Sees Lowest Daily Spike In 3 Months; A Look At Some Relieving Numbers

Coronavirus In India:  India on Tuesday recorded as many as 46,790 new infections, its lowest mark ever since a decline in daily cases has started, while 587 people were reported dead. Tuesday’s figure is the least addition to the overall caseload in last three months. India has reported 46,791 new Covid-19 cases and 587deaths in last 24 hours, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The number of patients recovering in the country is more than new cases. 69,720 patients recovered the previous day. According to the latest data of the Ministry of Health, the total number of corona infected people in the country has reached nearly 76 lakh. Out of these, 1,15,197 patients have died. At the same time the number of recovery cases has reached 67,33,329 and the number of active cases has come down to -7,48,538 According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), India's active cases have fallen below eight lakh after six weeks and continue to slide further down. Trend of daily cases in 5 most affected states-Maharashtra, Karnataka,Kerala,Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu-reveals stages of decline of active cases. It mirrors steady decrease in active cases in India with caseload being sustained below 8 lakhs for 3 days in a row, Health Ministry says. Covid-19 testing: As per Indian Council of Medical Research, the total number of samples tested till October 19, 2020 is 9,61,16,771; Samples tested on October 19 is 10,32,795. • Increased Testing: Over 9 crore samples have been tested so far
• Decline in active cases: A dip of 23,517 cases has been witnessed keeping the active cases well beyond 8 lakh mark
• Remarkable rise in recoveries: A rise by 69,721 since yesterday
• Fatality rate remains low: 1.52 per cent

Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit with a total of 16,01,365 cases, including 42,240 deaths; followed by Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
