Nintendo Switch 2 All You Need To Know: Price, Upgrades, Games, Specs, More

Nintendo has announced an exciting lineup of exclusive games, including Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, Kirby Air Riders, and The Duskbloods.

Nintendo Switch 2: Nintendo has officially pulled back the curtain on the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2, introducing a host of upgrades that promise a superior gaming experience. From a larger screen and enhanced graphics to magnetic controllers and exciting new game titles, here’s everything you need to know about the next-generation handheld console.

Pricing and Availability

The Nintendo Switch 2 is priced at $449 for the standalone console. A special bundle, which includes the all-new Mario Kart World, will be available for $499.

There's no word on India availability as of yet.

A Bigger and More Powerful Console

The Nintendo Switch 2 takes a significant leap in design and performance. It boasts a larger 7.9-inch screen, a notable jump from the original’s 6.2-inch display. Gamers can expect sharper visuals, as the console now supports a 1080p resolution on its built-in screen and up to 4K when docked. A 120Hz refresh rate and HDR capabilities promise smoother and more vibrant gameplay. Storage has also been significantly upgraded, with 256GB of built-in memory — eight times more than its predecessor’s 32GB.

Magnetic Controllers and Enhanced Game Chat

One of the standout upgrades comes in the form of the Joy-Con 2 controllers. These have been redesigned to attach magnetically to the console, offering a more secure and seamless connection. Additionally, they can function like a mouse in select games, adding a new dimension to gameplay. A newly introduced C-button activates the Game Chat feature, allowing players to communicate with friends and family through the console’s built-in microphone.

Exclusive Titles and Third-Party Game Support

Nintendo has announced an exciting lineup of exclusive games, including Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, Kirby Air Riders, and The Duskbloods. The console will also support major third-party titles like Elden Ring, Hades II, Split Fiction, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, and more, expanding its gaming library significantly.

Backward Compatibility and Virtual Game Cards

Existing Nintendo Switch players can breathe a sigh of relief — the new console will support both physical and digital versions of Nintendo Switch games. While certain titles may have limited compatibility, Nintendo has introduced the Virtual Game Cards system, allowing users to share and access their Nintendo Switch 1 games digitally on the Switch 2.

With a bigger screen, improved performance, and an exciting lineup of games, the Nintendo Switch 2 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated console releases of the year. Stay tuned for more details on its official launch date and additional features!
