Battlegrounds Mobile India Bans Over 34,000 Players For Cheating In Fresh Round Of Sanctions
Krafton, the South Korea-based developer of Battlegrounds Mobile India, frequently bans accounts that are found cheating.
New Delhi: Battlegrounds Mobile India, popularly known as BGMI, has banned over 34,000 players for cheating in its latest round of sanctions. Developed by South Korea-based Krafton, Battlegrounds Mobile India regularly culls cheating accounts from the platform to ensure fair play for all. For those unaware, BGMI is a rebranded version of PUBG Mobile, which was banned by the Indian government back in 2020 along with 117 other Chinese apps. PUBG Mobile was eventually relaunched in the country as Battlegrounds Mobile India in 2021.
On May 24, Krafton announced via an official BGMI blog post that a total of 34,460 accounts were permanently banned between May 16 and May 22. You can check out the full list of banned accounts here.

Krafton regularly bans accounts that are found cheating to gain an advantage over other players. Such accounts get flagged for downloading the game from unofficial sources, or for using illegal programs on their devices. To better their gameplay, players can unfairly use modified files or banned scripts to easily defeat unsuspecting users. However, Krafton also lets users flag such instances of cheating from within the app itself.
In other BGMI-related news, the battle royale started rolling out its latest update earlier this month, bringing in the Official Livik Map. Apart from that, players also got access to a new all-terrain four-wheeler called UTV, as well as fresh weapon upgrades and a handy zipline to help scoot around the map quickly.
