New Delhi: Popular Telugu singer Sunitha Upadrashta began her career at the young age of 17. Her commercial singing career started in 1995 with the Telugu movie 'Gulabi'. In addition to being a playback singer, she is also an anchor, a dubbing artist, and an actress in Tollywood. The singer has received a National Award from All India Radio under the brightest music category. Sunitha also received 9 Nandi Awards, which is the highest award ceremony in the Telugu entertainment industry. Trained under Pemaraju Surya Rao in Carnatic Vocal and Light music from Kalaga Krishna Mohan, she got several opportunities to perform in several concerts since a very young age including the programmes featured by All India Radio. Even as a child prodigy, she received many awards in various competitions; special mention her scholarship from Central Government to pursue her musical training. Sunitha has sung more than 3000 songs for the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada film industries and her contribution as a voice-over artist includes giving voice to over 110 actresses in more than 750 films. The singer, who earlier got married to Kiran Kumar Goparaju at the age of 19 has two children – Aakash Gopuraju and Shreya Gopuraju. The couple, however, later got divorced. Sunitha announced her engagement with Ram Veerapaneni earlier today (December 7) on her social media. Ram Veerapaneni is the director of 'Whacked Out Media', the leading South Indian movie promotion company. It is the digital wing of ‘Mango Group’ and is also into digital content distribution and audience development. Sharing the news of her engagement, Sunitha Upadrashta wrote, “Like every mother, I dream of settling my children down well. At the same time I am blessed with wonderful and thoughtful children and parents who always want to see me well settled in life.... the moment has finally come... Ram has entered my life as a caring friend and a wonderful partner.. we both are delighted to enter into wedlock very soon. Thanks to all my well wishers who understand that I keep my life very private. Please support and be with me as you always do”.
