Within 10 days of release, Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed ‘Vikram’ has already amassed a total of Rs. 300 crores worldwide.
New Delhi: The Lokesh Kanagaraj-directed ‘Vikram’, starring Kamal Haasan, has been a huge hit at the box office, both domestically and internationally. It's been two weeks since the release of Vikram in theatres, and it's already crossed Rs 300-crore mark globally, while the Hindi-dubbed version has raked in around Rs 5-6 crores net in India.
The movie made an incredible amount of money on its second weekend in Tamil Nadu, which is Rs. 29 crores. This is greater than the second-week earnings of any other film in the state, with the exception of ‘Baahubali 2’ and ‘KGF Chapter 2’. It is possible that the movie would break the all-time record with its earnings of Rs. 45 crores during its second week in theatres.
Within 10 days of its release, the film has already amassed a total of Rs. 300 crores worldwide. On Monday, Ramesh Bala, an entertainment tracker and trade expert, tweeted, "At the end of 2nd weekend, #Vikram has crossed the ₹ 300 Cr gross mark at the WW Box office..A first for #Ulaganayagan @ikamalhaasan and rest of the cast and crew!”
Moreover, 'Vikram' is also garnering attention from the audience of Kerala. For the first time in the history of Kerala, a film has exceeded the Rs. 30 crore mark in the state.
This weekend, Kamal Haasan and Salman Khan were among the guests at a dinner organised by Chiranjeevi to commemorate the box office success of his current film, ‘Vikram’. Chiranjeevi shared a slew of photos from his meeting with Salman and Kamal Haasan on Twitter. Kamal Haasan, Salman Khan, and 'Vikram' director Lokesh Kanagaraj are all seen receiving bouquets of flowers from Chiranjeevi in the photographs.
Kamal Haasan reprises a character that he had previously portrayed in the film with the same name that was released in 1986. The film has been dubbed and is now available in three languages, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam. He has returned under the alias of Vikram, a former agent of the coveted Black Squad.
