'Kept Insisting That We Go To My Room And Chat': Vidya Balan Recalls Her Casting Couch-Like Situation
Vidya Balan recently discussed how she handled an uncomfortable moment with a director in a recent interview.
Bollywood actress Vidya Balan recalled how she handled an awkward scenario with a director. She was questioned about her experiences with the casting couch in a recent interview. The actress revealed that she has always been very fortunate since she has never had a tryst with the casting couch, but she did recollect how once a director insisted on meeting her in his hotel room when they met for work. As a result, the actress left the door open, letting the director know that the only way out was via it.
Vidya also stated that she does not feel she had an encounter with the casting couch because no recommendations or offers were made. Yet this was only a feeling, a vibe she picked up. As a result, she was removed from the film.
In an interview with Humans Of Bombay, the actress was asked about her encounters with the casting couch in showbiz.
"I've genuinely not had a tryst with the casting couch," Vidya Balan stated in the interview. "I've been really fortunate since I've heard terrible stories, and it was my parents' greatest worry, as they were opposed to me working in films. But there was one incidence... I remember meeting with the director of one of my films that I had been signed to do while in Chennai for an ad film shoot." They met in a coffee shop, she said, but he "kept insisting that we go to my room and chat."
On the work front, Vidya Balan was recently seen in 'Jalsa' opposite Shefali Shah. The actress was a part of the March 18, 2022, release of the OTT movie. Paa, Kahaani, No One Killed Jessica, The Dirty Picture, and Jalsa are a few of her well-known works. The actress has the films "Neeyat" and "Lovers" scheduled after that.
