Year Ender: From 'Bigg Boss 13' To 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 9', Top Reality Shows Of 2019!

Most popular reality shows of the year 2019 which made headlines and also fetched TRPs for their respective channels.

2019 saw the launch of several reality shows on the small screen; while some topped the TRP charts, others failed to strike a chord with the viewers. Although, the channels didn’t experiment much with new concepts this year, some of the shows stood out from the rest. While big ticket reality show like 'Dance India Dance 7', which marked the TV debut of Bollywood diva Kareena Kapoor Khan, failed to impress viewers. 'Bigg Boss 13', 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 9' & various other reality shows continued to grab eyeballs. Here’s a look at some of the top reality shows of 2018: Khatron Ke Khiladi 9:  Hosted by Rohit Shetty, 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 9' hit the TV screens in January this year after the culmination of 'Bigg Boss 12' hosted by 'Dabangg 3' star Salman Khan which failed to made a mark in the TRP chart. However, the stunt-based reality show topped the TRP charts from its beginning to end. Popular celebrities including Avika Gor, S. Sreesanth, Zain Imam, Bharti Singh, Jasmin Bhasin and Shamita Shetty were seen as contestants in 'KKK 10' whereas actor-choreographer Punit J Pathak walked away with the winner's trophy. Bigg Boss 13: Colors TV's controversial reality show 'Bigg Boss 13' has created history by becoming the longest running season after five weeks extension. Popular celebrities including Sidharth Shukla, Rashami Desai, Dalljiet Kaur and Devoleena Bhattacharjee participated in 'Bigg Boss 13' which went on-air in September this year and the show is fetching amazing numbers for the channel and is a constant in weekly top 10 TRP list. 'BB 13'  grand finale will take place on February 13 and it'll be interesting to see who will finally win the show. Indian Idol 11: The eleventh season of the popular singing reality show is getting appreciation by the viewers. 'Indian Idol' is one of the most loved and top-rated singing reality show and its ongoing season too is fetching huge numbers for Sony TV. The show is judged by the trio of Vishal Dadlani, Neha Kakkar and Himesh Reshammiya (replaced Anu Malik). Hosted by Aditya Narayan, the reality show started in October. Himesh step into the shoes of Anu Malik, who moved out of the show due to #MeToo allegations against him. Dance Plus 5: Hosted by Raghav Juyal, the fifth season of 'Dance Plus 5' went on-air last month (November) and is fetching amazing response from the viewers since first week. Like previous seasons, Remo D'Souza is the super judge of 'Dance Plus 5 as well. Dharmesh Yelande, Punit Pathak, Karishma Chavan and Suresh Mukund are the four captains of this season. Nach Baliye 9: Star Plus’ popular dance reality show ‘Nach Baliye’ finally made its comeback on small-screen with its ninth season. Produced by superstar Salman Khan, current as well as ex-couple participated together in the reality show for the first time which made the viewers excited and curious. ‘Nach Baliye 9’ started with a bang as the show entered in the top 10 TRP list in the first week. Week by week, the show witnessed a decrease in TRPs however ‘Nach Baliye 9’ turned out to be a decent success as it made headlines due to huge drama courtesy Vishal Aditya Singh & Madhurima Tuli who are now a part of ‘Bigg Boss 13’. Overall, ‘Nach Baliye 9’ was reportedly a big success that ‘Nach Baliye 8’.
