When Shweta Tiwari Spoke About Her Two Failed Marriages: 'People Want Women To..'

Shweta Tiwari was previously married to Raja Chaudhary with whom she has a daughter, Palak Tiwari. The 'Kasautii' actress tied the knot with Abhinav Kohli in 2013 but their marriage didn't last long.

Mumbai: Popular television actress Shweta Tiwari has seen many ups and downs in her personal life. The 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay' star married actor Raja Chaudhary at the age of 18; however, their marriage lasted only 9 years as she got divorced at the age of 27. Shweta had accused Raja of domestic violence.

Tiwari tied the knot with Abhinav Kohli in 2013 but the rumours of trouble in their married life started doing the rounds on social media in 2019. Shweta had accused Abhinav of domestic violence and even filed a police complaint against him. Their separation set several tongues wagging as fans didn't expect them to face any issues in their marital life.

Shweta has a daughter, Palak, from her first marriage with Raja. She and Abhinav welcomed their child, a boy, Reyaansh in 2016. 

The 'Parvarish' actress, in an interview, spoke about her broken marriages, She told Pinkvilla, "In a middle class family, we are advised to adjust by compromising. People say that a husband can slap his wife and it doesn't matter. But my mother never told me all this. People want women to face abuse and still keep quiet."

Shweta added, "If you stay in a live-in relationship for 10 years and later decide to part ways, then no one says anything on that. However, when a marriage wnds in two years, people say - how many times will she marry?"

Shweta also said, "People come to me and say - Don't get married for a third time . I want to ask who are they? Are these people taking care of my marriage? This is my life and my decision. When my first marriage ended at the age of 27, I understood how difficult it is for a child to watch his parents fight or see her father come home drunk. It's better to be a single parent and grow up with the child."

On the professional front, Shweta Tiwari is currently seen in 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 11' as a contestant.
