When Lavina Tandon spat thrice on Akshay Dogra's face

Mumbai: Actor Akshay Dogra, who is seen as Jagan in TV show “Waaris”, had an awkward moment while shooting when his co-star Lavina Tandon spat on his face three times. Lavina, who is seen as Swaroop in the show, spat on Akshay's face as part of a sequence in which her character catches him red-handed getting cosy with another girl. Interestingly, due to retakes, Lavina actually spat three times on his face. Talking about the nasty encounter, Akshay said in a statement: “Initially the production approached me and told me that they would use water in case I feel uncomfortable in the scene. But I wanted the scene to look real and not made up. “Hence, I obliged and she spat thrice on my face. More than me, I felt Lavina was feeling uncomfortable. (It was) one of my unforgettable experiences I’d say. Nevertheless, it’s a part of my profession.” “Waaris”, which also stars Aarti Singh and Sania Touqueer, is based on cultural issues and focuses on the life of Amba (Aarti), who brings up a girl child as a boy.
