Comedian Viraj Gehlani’s Grandmother Passes Away; Rupali Ganguly Pays Tribute With Heartfelt Post

Viraj Gehlani’s grandmother, a frequent face in his videos and an ardent fan of Anupamaa, has passed away. Rupali Ganguly paid tribute with a touching Instagram post.

Comedian and content creator Viraj Gehlani is mourning the loss of his beloved grandmother, who passed away recently after battling age-related health complications. The news of her demise was confirmed by television actress Rupali Ganguly, who took to Instagram to offer her condolences and share a personal memory.

Sharing a recent photo with Viraj’s grandmother, Rupali wrote, “You will be missed.” The Anupamaa star’s message has struck an emotional chord with fans, many of whom were familiar with the late grandmother through Viraj’s popular videos.

A Cherished Bond Beyond the Screen

Viraj Gehlani’s grandmother had earned her own fanbase by frequently appearing in his relatable and heartwarming sketches. One of her most touching moments came last year, when she teared up after watching a dramatic episode of Anupamaa. In the scene, Rupali Ganguly’s character was shown in an accident, and Viraj had to comfort his distraught grandma by assuring her it was only fictional.
Moved by her reaction, Viraj contacted Rupali, who graciously agreed to speak to his grandmother over the phone. That gesture blossomed into a warm bond between the veteran TV actress and the elderly fan.

Rupali’s Hospital Visit Becomes a Memory to Cherish

Earlier this month, when Viraj’s grandmother was hospitalised, Rupali made time from her demanding shoot schedule to visit her in Kandivali. Viraj shared the moment on Instagram, writing, “When Rupali learned about Nani’s health struggles, she regularly checked in with me over calls to ensure everything was okay… Nani was thrilled, like a child meeting her superhero.”
The visit was a testament to Rupali’s humility and genuine care, earning her widespread praise across social media.

Anupamaa’s Lead Star Wins Hearts Both On and Off Screen

Rupali Ganguly continues to enjoy massive popularity as the lead in Anupamaa, one of Indian television’s top-rated dramas. Since its debut in 2020, the show has remained in the TRP Top 5 consistently, with recent episodes diving deep into emotional storytelling and life-changing decisions for the titular character.

While Viraj has not yet released an official statement about his grandmother’s passing, the outpouring of love from fans and Rupali’s touching tribute highlight just how deeply she was adored—both within her family and by those who followed her through the screen.
