Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Actor Gurucharan Singh Out Of Danger, Says Father

Actor Gurucharan Singh, known for his role as Roshan Sodhi in ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, is now on the road to recovery after a recent health scare

Actor Gurucharan Singh, known for his role as Roshan Sodhi in ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, is now on the road to recovery after a recent health scare. His father, Hargit Singh, provided an update about the actor’s condition, confirming that Gurucharan is no longer in danger and is recuperating at home.

What Gurucharan Singh's father said about his health

Sharing the details, Hargit Singh told News 18, “I’m happy to share that my son is now doing much better. Recently, he was hospitalised due to severe weakness, which had left him in a critical condition for some time. We were all worried but with the blessings of the Almighty, he is now out of danger. He is currently recovering at home and focusing on regaining his strength. Gurucharan has started eating well, and we are giving him fresh, nutritious meals. He’s also making it a priority to spend some quiet moments at the Gurudwara. In fact, he has gone there just now.”

According to his father, Gurucharan is gradually returning to normalcy. “Gurucharan has begun taking short walks and is slowly returning to a routine. We want to make sure that he doesn’t overexert himself. We are hopeful that with time, rest, and care, he will return to his full form,” he added. Gurucharan’s hospitalisation on January 7 was attributed to severe dehydration and weakness, reportedly caused by a prolonged lack of water intake.

Gurucharan's health struggle

Earlier this month, Gurucharan shared a video on Instagram, giving fans a glimpse into his health struggles. Reports suggest that he had stopped eating properly since May 2024 after returning to Delhi following a personal and professional hiatus. However, his friend Bhakti Soni recently revealed to Times of India that the actor has since secured a brand deal worth ₹13 lakh. She mentioned, “I have got Gurucharan Singh a brand deal worth ₹13 lakh, which has been given to him. After that, he agreed to break his fast. He will be coming to Mumbai by the end of the month to shoot for the same.”

The actor’s struggles made headlines last year when he went missing in April. Gurucharan later returned to his Delhi home in May, citing personal and professional challenges that prompted him to embark on a "spiritual journey."
