Pavitra Rishta 2: Sushant Singh Rajput's On-Screen Mother Usha Nadkarni To Not Feature In New Season?

Usha Nadkarni, who played the role of Savita Deshmukh in 'Pavitra Rishta, will not be seen in the new season.

Mumbai: Ekta Kapoor is all set to launch the new season of ‘Pavitra Rishta’. The show, which starred Ankita Lokhande and late Sushant Singh Rajput, is expected to hit the airwaves in the next few months. Although the makers have managed to keep the details under wraps, gossip mills have been buzzing with the rumours that a popular actress will not be part of the new season. We are talking about Usha Nadkarni.

According to Saas Bahu Aur Saazish, the veteran actress will not feature in ‘Pavitra Rishta 2’. She played the role of Sushant’s on-screen mother Savita Deshmukh in the hit daily soap, which beamed on Zee TV.

Interestingly, Manit Joura has been approached to play the lead role in ‘Pavitra Rishta 2.0’. The actor and makers are yet to confirm the rumours. Manit is currently seen in shows like ‘Kundali Bhagya’ and ‘Prem Bandhan’, which are being produced by Ekta’s production house.

‘Pavitra’, which was launched on June 1, 2009, focused on the story of Manav and Archana. The show managed to strike a chord with the audience and dominated the TRP charts for several years.

Both Sushant and Ankita became household names after playing the respective roles of Manav and Archana. The former couple fell in love on the sets of the same show. Their break-up in 2016 set several tongues wagging as they were considered one of the most popular couples in tinsel town.

‘Pavitra Rishta’ also starred Asha Negi, Ritvik Dhanjani and Karanveer Mehra in key roles. The show, which was the adaptation of Tamil drama ‘Thirumathi Selvam’ went off air after a successful run of five long years.
