Namik Paul opts out of 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay', to enter 'Kavach season 2' opposite Deepika Singh!

Namik Paul, who had earlier confirmed entering 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay', opts out of the show and will now play male lead opposite Deepika Singh in 'Kavach 2'

‘Ek Deewana Tha’ actor Namil Paul made headlines recently for his entry in Parth Samthaan, Erica Fernandes and Hina Khan's 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2' and confirming the same, he had said in a statement, "KZK 2' has managed to captivate audiences and establish itself as one of the premier shows in Indian television. I'm very excited to join the team and would like to thank Balaji Telefilms and Star Plus for the opportunity". Namik was reportedly set to play the new man in Prerna's life and his character was modelled on Mr Bajaj (Ronit Roy in original series). However now it isn't happening as the latest report reveals that the actor has opted out of the hit show and will instead play lead in another supernatural show starring Deepika Singh in lead. The 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' actress Deepika is the female lead of upcoming season 2 of Balaji show 'Kavach' and a report on BollywoodLife reveals that Namik is set to play the male lead opposite her now. A source told them on Thursday - "A decision was taken by the officials earlier in the day to make Namik the lead of another show". Both the shows are produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms and while Namik was earlier glad to stepped out of the supernatural genre as he was entering 'Kasautii...', a big development seem to have taken place and he is back to it. Namik has played lead roles in Sony Tv shows 'Ek Duje Ke Vaaste' and 'Ek Deewaana Tha' earlier. While talking about his 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay' entry, he had told IWM Buzz - "I was working on myself, and was looking at picking up a role that I have not done till now. Since I have already done a supernatural show with Ek Deewaana Tha, I did not want to take up another show of the same genre. The trend of supernaturals has been going on for sometime now. However, I was quite certain that I did not want to repeat myself, or immediately follow it up with a horror or supernatural genre. In simple words, I did not want to be typecast". Adding further he had said- "I wanted to take up something based on human relations. Such shows are more relatable. When you do something supernatural or even a mythological, the VFX is the talking point and the larger than life scale becomes the selling point. I wanted to do something where the story and characters are the selling point. That was what I was hoping to get. And thankfully I have got one with Kasautii Zindagii Kay". Surprisingly, the actor has now agreed to do yet another supernatural show. The season 2 of Colors TV show 'Kavach - Kali Shaktiyon Se' which will be replacing 'Naagin 3', is also a supernatural drama that featured Vivek Dahiya, Mona Singh and Sara Khan in the first season.
