Muthukumaran wins Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8
Following his victory, an emotional Muthukumaran dedicated the win to the contestants, technicians, and, most importantly, his mother. He said, “This award belongs to all the 24 contestants. It also belongs to one lady who has lived without losing self-respect… that woman is my mother. All she taught me was hard work. Just know that if Muthukumaran can, you all can. All it takes is hard work."

Soundarya was named the runner-up of the season. Despite being one of the more controversial contestants, often criticised for her perceived lack of contribution to the house, her unique personality and strong fan support carried her to the finale. Vishal completed the top three finalists.
Vijay Sethupathi to return as Bigg Boss Tamil host
This season marked Vijay Sethupathi’s debut as the host of Bigg Boss Tamil, succeeding Kamal Haasan, who had hosted the show for the previous seven seasons. Bala, the head of Vijay Television, revealed Sethupathi’s initial hesitance to take on the role.
“When we first met him, he said, ‘I don’t like the show, and I don’t watch Bigg Boss.’ By Week 1, he was onboard. After Week 4, he was giving us suggestions on how to improve the show and interview contestants for Season 10. The only reason we had so much fun was Vijay Sethupathi," Bala shared.
Bala also confirmed Sethupathi’s return as host for the next season. Reacting to the announcement, Sethupathi said emotionally, “I didn’t expect you to reveal that." He expressed gratitude to Kamal Haasan for laying the foundation of the show, stating, “One can be lauded for building the tenth floor, but credit should go to the person who built the first nine floors. That credit belongs to Kamal Sir. I am happy to go down the path laid down by him."
The success of the season, coupled with Sethupathi’s engaging hosting style, has heightened expectations for Bigg Boss Tamil Season 9. Fans are eager to see what lies ahead for the beloved reality show.
