Anupamaa Actor Madalsa Sharma Aka Kavya Opens Up About Her Exit, Rift Rumours With Rupali Ganguly

Anupamaa actor Madalsa Sharma, who played Kavya in the show, left the popular television show days after Sudhanshu Pandey’s exit. Madalsa has now addressed her departure.

'Anupamaa' actor Madalsa Sharma, who played Kavya in the show, left the popular television show days after Sudhanshu Pandey’s exit. Madalsa has now addressed her departure and the rumours surrounding her relationship with co-star Rupali Ganguly.

Why Madalsa left Anupamaa

In a conversation with Times Now, Madalsa shared that she was dissatisfied with her character’s storyline in the show. She explained that the upcoming six-month time leap presented a natural opportunity for her to step away. "Kavya’s character was losing its edge. I have been feeling that Kavya had not been given the importance and space that she formally had in the show,” she told Times Now. Her decision to leave, she added, was made in mutual agreement with the show’s producer, Rajan Shahi.

Madalsa on relationship with Rupali Ganguly

Regarding rumours of a rift between her and Rupali Ganguly, who plays the titular role in Anupamaa, Madalsa cleared the air, insisting they had a cordial relationship. “Honestly, when you work in a place for so long—4 years, kabhi na kabhi, kahin na kahin, kisi na kisi ke sath kuch toh upar neeche hota hi hai (somewhere, at some point, something happens). That is not something you take to heart because you are meeting many types of people every day of your life. There is nothing that I would rather want to put out there that I had something bad going on with Rupali or any other actor. Certain days are good and certain days are not good, which is how life functions. So there was nothing that bothered me in those aspects. It has all been good fun and games. We were all very friendly and cordial. We don’t need to make reels and post pictures with people to show how well you bond with someone,” she said.

Madalsa further elaborated that working with Rupali was enjoyable and that the rumours didn’t reflect the reality of their bond. " We don’t need to make reels and post pictures with people to show how well you bond with someone," she said, dismissing any talk of tension.

When asked if she considered Rupali a friend or just a colleague, Madalsa responded, "Of course, a friend/colleague both, but I can indeed call her a friend. I have seen her for four years, worked with her. Of course, I can call her a friend."

Despite no longer being part of the show, Madalsa expressed that she will continue to follow Anupamaa.
