Aly Goni Faces Backlash Over India-Pakistan Ceasefire Post, Says 'I Still Want Peace'

Amid escalating India-Pakistan tensions, actor Aly Goni finds himself at the centre of social media outrage after voicing concerns over ceasefire violations and the safety of his family in Jammu.

Amid escalating India-Pakistan tensions, actor Aly Goni finds himself at the centre of social media outrage after voicing concerns over ceasefire violations and the safety of his family in Jammu. Facing intense trolling for his remarks, Aly has now spoken out, reiterating that his views come from a place of care for both his nation and his loved ones.

Aly Goni responds to backlash

The actor took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the criticism and online abuse. Undeterred by the hate, Aly stood firm on his stance advocating for peace.

“People want to abuse me please go on I don’t care at all.. I still want peace for my State for my Family for my country. AND that’s my opinion and will not change.. #ceasefire,” Aly wrote.

Earlier, Aly had criticised Pakistan for multiple ceasefire violations. On Saturday, just hours after India and Pakistan agreed to halt all hostilities across land, air, and sea, Pakistan reportedly carried out several ceasefire breaches. Drones were spotted in multiple areas of Jammu and Kashmir, accompanied by explosions.

In response to these developments, Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri urged Pakistan to approach the matter with “seriousness” and “responsibility”.

Reacting to the violations, Aly posted, “Urdu mein likhke bhejo English mein samaj nahi aaya hoga (Please send it in Urdu, they might not have understood English),” which attracted a wave of trolling online.

Aly is worried about his family

A few days ago, Aly revealed that he is currently outside India due to professional commitments and is deeply concerned about his family’s safety back home. He shared several pictures from his family album on Instagram, along with a heartfelt note.

Talking about the attack on Jammu, he wrote, "Sleepless and shattered, stuck out of India as my family in Jammu endures last night's attack. My whole family, children, and parents face the terror of drones and unrest, yet some people glorify this war from the comfort of their homes, posting on social media. It's not that easy for those near the border. Thanks to our IAF And Indian Army praying for safety and peace". Aly is reportedly in Vietnam for a shoot.

About India-Pakistan Conflict

The Indian Armed Forces held a press briefing on Sunday regarding the ongoing Operation Sindoor. They reported the elimination of over 100 terrorists, including key figures like Yusuf Azhar, Abdul Malik Rauf, and Mudasir Ahmed. It was also revealed that between May 7 and 10, approximately 35 to 40 Pakistani Army personnel were killed during artillery and small arms fire exchanges along the Line of Control (LoC).

Director General of Military Operations, Lieutenant General Rajeev Ghai, announced that a DGMO-level discussion with Pakistan is scheduled to take place on Monday.
