New Delhi: The Coronavirus pandemic has severely affected the functioning of many countries in the world including India. PM Narendra Modi extended the nationwide lockdown till May 3 to combat the spread of the deadly virus. The COVID-19 outbreak has taken a hit on the entertainment industry as the shooting for all TV shows, films and ads have been halted.
We had earlier informed you that Sony TV has axed ‘Beyhadh 2’, ‘Patiala Babes’ and ‘Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein’ and these shows won’t return to the small screen after the Coronavirus lockdown ends.
As per the latest buzz, another GEC is expected to end some of its less popular shows. We are talking about Zee TV.
According to a report in an entertainment portal, Zee TV might pull the plug now or very soon post lockdown on two of its shows- ‘Ishq Subhan Allah’ and ‘Dil Yeh Ziddi Hai’. Both the fiction shows generated low TRPs for the channel.
While ‘Ishq Subhan Allah’ saw a drop in its ratings post the time slot change, ‘Dil Yeh Ziddi Hai’ could never strike a chord with the viewers.
'Ishq Subhan Allah' stars Adnan Khan and Tunisha Sharma in lead roles. Eisha Singh, who played the role of original Zara, left the show last year.
'Dil Yeh Ziddi Hai', which features 'Bigg Boss 12' contestant Rohit Suchanti and Megha Ray, went on air in November 2019.
“I too have heard this buzz but have not officially informed. When the TV shoot first stopped mid last month, everybody on set was hopeful of quickly getting back to work. But now with no clarity on lockdown lifting, things might have changed, for our call to creative is going unanswered. Guess no one wants to reveal plan which might again change at the last minute,” an actor associated with ‘Ishq Subhan Allah’ told IWMBuzz.
It remains to be seen if the shows will go off air soon or the makers will take the decision after the lockdown ends.
