T-Series Unveils First Look Of MADAM CHIEF MINISTER, Starring Richa Chadha, Manav Kaul

Actress Richa Chadha is in the lead role in Subhash Kapoor’s 'Madam Chief Minister'

The makers of Richa Chadha starrer 'Madam Chief Minister' unveiled the teaser poster of the anecdotal political drama directed by Subhash Kapoor. With the fierce actress playing the protagonist in the film set in Uttar Pradesh, the film is about a woman who choose to debunk the men and society that tried to shackle, demean and defeat her.

Madam Chief Minister also features Saurabh Shukla, Manav Kaul, Akshay Oberoi and Shubhrajyoti in pivotal roles.

Chadha said the film is about an 'untouchable' who braves all odds in life. 'Glad to present to you all, my new movie #MadamChiefMinister, a political drama about an 'untouchable' who hustles and makes it big in life!' she tweeted.

A Kangra Talkies production, written and directed by Subhash Kapoor, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Naren Kumar and Dimple Kharbanda is set to release in cinemas on 22nd January 2021. This would be Chadha's second theatrical release amid the coronavirus pandemic, after 'Shakeela' which hit cinema halls last month.

Subhash Kapoor, who was a journalist, has created an anecdotal political drama and owing to his prior experience in the field it was a crackling script that immediately drew Richa in. He had been working on the script for many years and Richa was an obvious choice given that she is amongst the few well-articulated, politically and socially aware actresses of our time.

In the year 2019, Richa's film Section 375 triggered a nationwide conversation on rape laws and Section 375 (also the title), which was directed by Ajay Bahl.
