For those who are unaware, various pro-Kannada parties, farmer organisations, and labour unions have demanded a Karnataka Bandh on September 29 in opposition to the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. The protesters claim that water is being provided to Tamil Nadu despite the fact that the southwest monsoon is winding down and storage levels in the reservoirs of the Cauvery basin in Karnataka are at an all-time low. The Cauvery serves as Bengaluru's primary water supply and is used to irrigate agriculture in the Mandya district of the state.
Siddharth starrer 'Chikku' is a Kannada film. The movie is directed by S. U. Arun Kumar and features Siddharth, Nimisha Sajayan, Anjali Nair and Sahasra Shree as lead characters.
