Rajnikanth Wraps Filming Lal Salaam, Director Aishwaryaa Calls Him 'Pure Magic'

Rajinikanth will play the lead role in Jailer. The superstar will also make a significant cameo in Lal Salaam, which is being directed by Rajini's daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth.

New Delhi: The second half of 2023 will be a festival for fans of Thalaivar even though it has been two years since the superstar Rajinikanth last starred in a film because he is now working on two films at once. He will play the lead role in the first movie, Jailer, which is being directed by Nelson, while he will also make a significant cameo in the second movie, Lal Salaam, which is being directed by Rajini's daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth.

On Wednesday, Rajinikanth's elder daughter and director Aishwaryaa shared that the superstar has finished filming his part for the upcoming movie. Aishwaryaa took to her Instagram to share a picture featuring the Thalaivar and her team as they went euphoroc after wrapping the shoot. She captioned the picture as, "Making a movie with you is a miracle and you are pure magic appa.. #lalsalaam moideen bhai #anditsawrap🎬 for THE SUPERSTAR"

The superstar will make a lengthy cameo appearance in the movie. The production company behind Lal Salaam, Lyca Productions, unveiled the actor's first appearance as "Moideen Bhai" from the movie in May.

Earlier, Aishwaryaa has shared another post Rajinikanth and ace cricketer Kapil Dev, who also plays a signifact role in the movie. Sharing pictures with the two, she wrote, "lal salaam, moideen bhai ! And off we go to our next schedule ,kudos team and @therealkapildev sir you are a darling 🫡 see you soon ! #thankfulgratefulblessed"

The movie also includes former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev in addition to Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth playing the lead. Rajini himself made the announcement that Kapil would have a cameo in the movie.

Oscar-winning artist AR Rahman is writing the songs for Lal Salaam. The makers of 'Lal Salaam' are aiming for the film's theatrical release, later this year.
