'Salaar' Postponed Amid SRK's 'Jawan' Release; Prabhas Starrer To Release In 2024
Directed by Prashanth Neel, 'Salaar' is currently scheduled to release on September 28, 2023.
New Delhi: Prabhas' ‘Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire’, one of the most anticipated films of the year, has reportedly been delayed. The production team is working tirelessly on the film's post-production in order to provide an unforgettable cinematic experience to moviegoers. Although Prabhas's last film 'Adipurush' suffered a reputational blow, his devoted followers remained optimistic. They have moved on and are now supporting his new film ‘Salaar’, which will be released later this year or next year. The film's release date has been pushed back from September to December.
The film's trailer was supposed to be out in August but never did. The film is directed by Prashanth Neel, who is known for making action-packed entertainment.
It's unclear at this moment if ‘Salaar’ will be released in December 2023 or January 2024. If it comes out in December this year, it will have to compete with both Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ and Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Sam Bahadur’. ‘Dunki’, starring SRK, is also scheduled for a December 25th release.
Due to ongoing post-production work, the release date of 'Salaar' is set for December 2023 or early 2024. According to the source, bookings in the United States will be cancelled and refunds will be made.
Pinkvilla quoted a source saying, "Salaar holds a prominent position among the big films emerging from India, and the creators are determined to meet the high expectations of fans and moviegoers. Unfortunately, the film is not yet ready and requires additional time for post-production."
If this postponement is legit, it's great news for Vivek Agnihotri's chances at the box office. ‘Salaar’ was coinciding with his film, ‘The Vaccine War’. The delay will help the box office performance of Vivek's film.
Salaar's opening weekend receipts might be hurt by Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’, the other big-budget picture opening around the same time.
