New Delhi: 'Jailer' starring Rajinikanth has released in cinemas today. From early morning shows running to full houses thanks to the public holiday declared in some states in the house, 'Jailer' is a sure shot super hit. 'Jailer' also marks the Tamil superstar's return to the silver screen after two years and his fans cannot keep calm.
'Jailer' also had an enormous advance bookings response. The film collected Rs. 19 crores from advance bookings until Tuesday. The figures were shared by trade analysis site Sacnilk.com. 'Jailer' has superseeded all expectations and big Bollywood releases like 'Gadar 2' and 'OMG 2'. The latter films were nowhere near 'Jailer' as far as the advance bookings numbers were concerned.
Other key cast members of 'Jailer' include Tamannaah Bhatia, Jackie Shroff, Shivraj Kumar, Ramya Krishnan, Mohanlal, Priyanka Mohan, Yogi Babu, Vasanth Ravi and Vinayakan.
The excitement around Jailer's release was such that many offices even offered free tickets to employees to prevent piracy besides also giving a complete all-day leave due to the enormous amount of leave requests for August 10, Jailer's release date.
Many offices in Bengaluru and Chennai put out notices for their employees offering a collective leave to eomployees besides also offering free tickets.
In 'Jailer', Rajinikanth will be seen playing the role of a retired police officer. Jailer also marks his first collaboration with director Nelson Diliplumar.
'Jailer' is a black comedy-action film writted an directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. The film has been produced by Kalanithi Maran and Sun Pictures. The music of 'Jailer' has been composed by celebrated music composed Anirudh Ravichander, while the cinematography and editing were handled by Vijay Kartik Kannan and R Nirmal.
As per reports, 'Jailer' has been mounted on a budget of Rs. 200 crores. The film's theatrical rights were sold in Tamil Nadu alone for Rs. 123 crores. In other parts, the film was sold for almost Rs. 91 crores.

Jailer Movie Release Live: Audience Reaction Over Rajinikanth's Entry Scene In 'Jailer' Causes Mumbai Theatre To Pause The Film
Rajinikanth fans were seen cheering for the superstar during his whistle-worthy entry scene in the film 'Jailer', which lead to pausing the movie in a theatre in Mumbai.
A video was captured on X, formerly called Twitter, by a fan who was present at the theatre and displayed a short clip of how the movie was suddenly paused in the hall as everyone suddenly stood up and started cheering out loud and clapping.
Just the stylish entry of the 72-year-old on screen caused the theatre in a big screen in Sion, Mumbai to pause.
